The Z-Line MR-13 filter is constructed with pleated, extended-surface media made from 100% synthetic fibers that are electrostatically charged for better filtration performance. The fibers are thermally bonded in a gradient pattern, and a layer of expanded galvanized metal is attached to the air-exit side with a heat-setting adhesive to support the pleats. The pleats are configured in a radial shape and secured inside a durable, moisture-resistant beverage board frame. The frame is laminated to the pleats at their peak points for extra strength. These filters meet U.L. Class 2 fire resistance standards (U.L. 900) and can withstand temperatures up to 180°F. When tested according to ANSI/ASHRAE 52.2 standards, the filters are rated at MERV 13.
